About the Role
Mountainstar Payments is looking for a Payments Support Specialist to join our Kenya-based team, working in coordination with our directors and staff in the United States. This role provides extended-hours coverage that, combined with our US team’s schedule, delivers close to 24-hour support for our clients.
You’ll operate on Mountain Standard Time.
What You’ll Do
- Cybersource Support — Assist with Cybersource setups, ongoing support, and reporting on Cybersource activity.
- Daily Check-Ins — Daily report on progress and share updates
- Bank & Processor Portals — Log in to banking and processing portals to pull bulk data, handle bank reporting, and organize reports required for card brand regulatory compliance.
- Reporting — Present daily findings and reports.
- PCI Compliance — Manage PCI compliance tasks for merchants and clients through the designated compliance portal.
- Risk Review — Review merchant and client account risk parameters and report findings to your Director.
- After-Hours Support — Provide after-hours support for US clients, timed to align well with the Kenya workday.
- Holiday Coverage — Provide on-call support for clients on select US holidays, which will most often align with the Kenya holiday calendar.
Requirements
Education
- A degree or diploma (field open, relevant business/finance/IT background a plus)
Experience
- Have atleast 3 years experince in a similar field
- Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities outlined above
- Prior experience with payment processing, compliance, or banking portals preferred
Availability
- Must be able to work Mountain Standard Time hours
- Must be available for shift rotations, including weekends and select holidays
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of the systems and tasks listed above (Cybersource, bank/processor portals, PCI compliance, risk review)
- Comfortable working independently with periodic check-ins across time zones
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-team reporting
