Overview
Organic Growth & AI Search Strategist (Fractional / Part-Time) Jobs in United States at Waggle
Title: Organic Growth & AI Search Strategist (Fractional / Part-Time)
Company: Waggle
Location: United States
Waggle is a national nonprofit that has helped pet owners raise more than $10 million for life-saving veterinary care. We’re looking for a senior search strategist to help us build a modern organic growth program that extends beyond traditional SEO into AI-powered search and answer engines.
This is a strategic advisory role—not an execution-heavy agency engagement. We already have an excellent developer, a strong content team, robust analytics, and significant paid social expertise. We’re looking for someone who can provide direction, prioritize opportunities, and help our team execute the highest-impact initiatives.
Application Note: While not required, we strongly encourage you to email your resume and a brief cover letter to [email protected] describing why you’d be a great fit for this role. We’d also appreciate your perspective (250 words or less) on the following question: How do you believe AI-powered search will change organic growth over the next three years, and how would you help a nonprofit like Waggle adapt? Thoughtful responses will be given significant consideration during our review process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess our current organic search performance using Google Search Console, GA4, and other available tools.
- Develop a roadmap covering technical SEO, content strategy, site architecture, authority building, and AI search visibility.
- Identify the highest-impact opportunities to increase qualified pet owner traffic.
- Provide prioritized recommendations for our developer and content team.
- Advise on modern search best practices, including SEO, AI Overviews, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
- Review progress through recurring strategy sessions and adjust priorities as needed.
- Monitor industry trends and ensure Waggle remains well positioned as search continues to evolve.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years leading SEO or organic growth strategy.
- Demonstrated success increasing organic traffic for content-rich websites.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, structured data, and authority building.
- Experience with AI-powered search, Google’s AI Overviews, AEO, GEO, or related emerging search technologies.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with internal developers, writers, and marketing teams.
- Data-driven and experienced with Google Search Console, GA4, and modern SEO platforms.
ENGAGEMENT
This is intended to be a long-term, part-time advisory relationship. We anticipate only a few hours per month, with occasional deeper strategic projects. The right candidate will help establish priorities, provide expert guidance, and enable our internal team to execute effectively rather than performing all of the work themselves.
If you’re passionate about the future of search and excited about helping a mission-driven nonprofit reach more pet owners in need, we’d love to hear from you.
