LVT or Experienced Veterinary Assistant Jobs in Vancouver, WA at Claus Paws Animal Hospital
We are seeking a dedicated experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician or an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality medical care for our furry patients.
Duties
– Assist veterinarians in medical procedures
– Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis, blood counts and cytologies.
– Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
– Take x-rays
– Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients
– Maintain accurate medical records
– Educate pet owners on animal care and treatment plans
Qualifications
– High School Diploma
– Certification or Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology preferred, but not required.
– Proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal husbandry, and animal physiology
– Experience in animal care, handling and restraint.
– Knowledge of dog and cat handling techniques is a plus, we are a Fear Free Facility. -Experienced in phlebotomy -Experience with vaccine protocols -Understanding of SOAP format and scribing for doctors
