Position Summary

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our veterinarians and support team to provide high-quality medical and surgical nursing care. You will play a vital role in patient treatment, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostics, dentistry, client education, and ensuring every pet and pet parent receives an exceptional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and obtain accurate vital signs.
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures.
  • Calculate, prepare, and administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments in accordance with state regulations and veterinarian direction.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia while accurately documenting anesthetic events.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis, full-mouth dental radiographs, charting, and assist with advanced dental procedures.
  • Prepare patients and surgical suites for procedures while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning and radiation safety practices.
  • Collect and process blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples; perform in-house laboratory diagnostics and prepare samples for outside laboratories.
  • Place and maintain intravenous catheters and administer intravenous fluids.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition to the attending veterinarian.
  • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, post-operative instructions, nutrition, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Assist in training and mentoring veterinary assistants.
  • Maintain equipment, sterilize instruments, and help ensure a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential in the State of Nevada, or eligibility for licensure.
  • Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technology program.
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, radiology, laboratory procedures, and patient nursing.
  • Excellent communication and client education skills.
  • Compassionate, professional, and team-oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and veterinary software.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
