Key Responsibilities

Operations & Warehouse Management

→ Full ownership of Mbare warehouse operations — receiving, weighing, categorising, storage, and dispatch

→ Enforce zero-tolerance standards on stock discrepancies — physical count must match records at all times

→ Conduct regular unannounced stock revisions and implement anti-theft controls

→ Manage and drive a team of approximately 10+ staff across site — daily supervision, task allocation, performance management

Financial & Reporting

→ Oversee daily cash and material balances — close every day correctly

→ Review and sign off on daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports

→ Maintain accurate records of all client transactions, material movements, and inventory

→ Report directly to GM on KPIs, variances, risks, and opportunities

Client Development & Purchasing

→ Represent Etero Metal professionally in client meetings and negotiations

→ Make on-the-spot pricing decisions within defined parameters — escalate larger decisions to GM

→ Maintain professional relationships with competitors — gather market intelligence without compromising business integrity

Candidate Profile

Essential

→ Valid Class 4 driver's licence

→ Minimum 5 years experience in operations, warehouse management, or field procurement

→ Proven track record managing teams of 5+ people

→ Strong numeracy — comfortable with daily cash balances, stock reconciliation, and variance analysis

→ Experience operating in a fast-paced, field environment

Character — this matters as much as experience

→ Backbone — will push back when something is wrong

→ Flexible where it counts — knows when to be firm and when to build goodwill

→ Commercially minded — understands that growing the client base is part of the job, not someone else's job

→ Self-directed
