Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician and/or Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to provide high-quality support in a veterinary setting. This role involves working closely with veterinarians and other staff to ensure the health and well-being of our patients, while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners about animal husbandry and care.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively during procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennel areas.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection.
- Support critical care efforts for animals in need of urgent attention.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in veterinary settings is preferred; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong skills in dog handling and general animal husbandry practices.
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care protocols is a plus.
- Familiarity with animal physiology and behavior is essential.
- Experience with dog training techniques is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
