We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to fill a full-time or part-time position on our team. Our veterinary clinic provides high quality and compassionate care to dogs, cats, and exotic pets (including birds, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, reptiles, and more). We are a small, fun, easy-going group seeking another team member who works well with others, has strong communication skills, a good work ethic, the ability to multi-task, and compassion for both people and pets. Position responsibilities include general veterinary technician/assistant tasks such as patient history taking, venipuncture, running diagnostic tests (UA, in-house blood work, cytologies, radiographs, etc), surgical monitoring, and client education. Applicants should have some experience and be comfortable with electronic scheduling and paperless record keeping. Position includes some Saturday mornings.

“`Duties“`
– Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
– Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
– Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
– Monitor animals’ vital signs and report any abnormalities to veterinarians
– Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
– Take and develop X-rays of animals as needed
– Clean and sanitize examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment
– Provide basic grooming services such as bathing and nail trimming
– Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures

“`Experience“`
– Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or equivalent education/training
– Proficient in veterinary terminology and medical procedures
– Experience with animal catheterization and critical care
– Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and techniques
– Familiarity with dog handling and training methods

Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Certification or license as a veterinary technician is preferred
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with a team

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
