Duties
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Handle phone inquiries, provide accurate information about services, and coordinate appointment scheduling efficiently
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals, preparing supplies, and maintaining a clean, sterile environment using aseptic techniques
- Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas
- Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with animal catheterization and restraint as needed
- Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples for analysis, and operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis
- Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and client communications to ensure seamless workflow
Requirements
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equines
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices
- Experience with dental terminology and procedures related to veterinary dentistry
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, and aseptic procedures in a veterinary setting
- Ability to perform animal restraint effectively while ensuring safety for both pets and staff
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with pet owners and team members
- Prior veterinary technician experience or equivalent training is highly desirable
- Ability to handle dog training routines, pet grooming tasks, and perform animal catheterization when necessary
- Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare through compassionate care and attention to detail
