Looking for a great way to work with animals and save lives outside of the normal veterinary practice? The North American Veterinary Blood Bank is looking for an addition to our team to help us keep up with the ever-growing demand for canine blood donors.
This position will require long periods of standing and heavy lifting. You will be required to meet at our Pittsburgh office daily to load the company vehicle before traveling to various off-site donation locations for the day.
We are a small team that all work closely together. We are looking for someone that is as passionate about saving animals as we are. Some other qualities we are looking for are reliability, responsibility, easily adapts to change, and good critical thinking.
We only work Monday – Friday during the day, no evenings, weekends or holidays.
The North American Veterinary Blood Bank is looking to add an CVT/LVT with advanced phlebotomy skills to our collection team!
What You’ll Be Doing
Perform jugular blood collection draws
Perform a pre-donation evaluation to determine donor eligibility
Properly process and store collected blood donations
Perform blood typing tests on each new donor
Get the opportunity to form incredible bonds with each life-saving donor
Enjoy working with large, young, happy, healthy dogs every day!
Experience and Skills Needed
Must have phlebotomy experience
Must have experience in the veterinary field
