Requirements
Be a registered veterinary technician licensed to work in the state of North Carolina or an assistant with 1-2 years of emergency experience
Emergency and ICU experience is required (2 years)
Have an enthusiastic attitude to help animals and to work efficiently and compassionately with a team
Have Non-Judgmental character
Be eager to learn
Be flexible to ever changing emergency environments
Responsibilities
Assess and triage incoming patients, determining the urgency of their condition.
Assist veterinarians during emergency procedures, including surgeries and critical care treatment.
Collect and record patient histories, vital signs, and any other relevant medical information. Administer treatments for both outpatient and inpatient animals
Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment in a sterile environment.
Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and radiography.
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and provide post-operative care.
Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates and education regarding their pet’s condition and care.
