Job Overview
Job description:
Duties:
– Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility
– Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
– Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
– Exercise and play with animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being
– Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns or changes to supervising staff
– Maintain accurate records of animal care and any observed health issues
Qualifications:
– MUST have experience working in a kennel environment setting
– Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures
– Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and supervising staff
– Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting or prolonged periods of standing or walking
– Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
Skills:
– Heavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy objects such as bags of pet food or pets.
– Animal care: Understanding of general animal care practices.
– Customer service: Ability to provide excellent customer service to pet owners.
– Kennel: Knowledge of kennel operations and procedures.
– Pet care: Experience in providing care for various types of pets. (dogs, cats, goats & chickens)
– Animal handling: Proficiency in safely handling different types of animals.
– Animal restraint: Ability to safely restrain animals during arrivals and departures or grooming sessions.
