  • Providing safe, compassionate, and confident patient handling and restraint.
  • Obtaining and accurately recording patient histories, vital signs, and treatment information.
  • Placing IV catheters and collecting blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples.
  • Performing laboratory testing and assisting with interpretation and preparation of diagnostic results.
  • Assisting with radiology and other diagnostic imaging while following appropriate safety protocols.
  • Monitoring patients during anesthesia and recovery and assisting with perioperative care.
  • Administering medications, vaccines, fluids, and other treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Assisting with dental procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and dental radiographs when applicable.
  • Maintaining clean, organized treatment and surgical areas and following appropriate infection-control and aseptic protocols.

  • Experience with in-house laboratory equipment and diagnostic testing.
  • Familiarity with radiology and proper radiographic safety practices.
  • Knowledge of veterinary anatomy, physiology, terminology, and common medical procedures.

Veterinary Assistants/Technicians should be comfortable working independently within their scope of practice while collaborating closely with our veterinarians and the rest of the medical team.

We value assistants/technicians who are confident in their technical skills, take pride in patient care, and are eager to contribute their knowledge and experience to the growth of our hospital.
