Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas – Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
Take and develop x-rays
Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
Help with dental cleanings and procedures
Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Skills
S trong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members
Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
K nowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common diseases
Proficiency in administering medications and treatments to animals
Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and documentation
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
