Community Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.
This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile veterinary assistant who enjoys a diverse caseload and variety in their day while continuing to build and utilize a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client communication, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. As an AAHA-accredited practice, the team is committed to maintaining high standards of veterinary care while seeing a diverse range of canine and feline patients. The practice also provides internal medicine and reproductive services, offering valuable exposure to a wide range of clinical needs.
We’re looking for a dependable, motivated team member who thrives in a fast-paced environment, multitasks effectively, anticipates team needs, communicates professionally, and takes pride in providing exceptional support and compassionate care throughout every patient visit.
In this position, you will take an active role in:
- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Providing safe, gentle patient handling and stress-free restraint during outpatient and procedural care
- Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
- Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
- Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
Schedule and compensation:
- Compensation: $16 – $19 per hour, for each hour worked
- This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday – Friday with one required Saturday shift per month from 9am – 1pm.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant required
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures
- Surgery set-up and assisting
- Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
