They are seeking an experienced Tyre Retreading Specialist Technician with strong hands-on expertise in the complete tyre retreading process.
Key Responsibilities / Job Description
- Take responsibility for the complete production process of retreaded tyres, from casing inspection to final inspection.
- Inspect incoming used tyre casings and determine their suitability for retreading.
- Identify and segregate casings that are unsuitable for retreading.
- Operate and monitor tyre buffing equipment and ensure old tread is removed according to required specifications.
- Ensure correct buffing radius, width, diameter, profile, and surface texture are maintained without damaging the casing.
- Identify casing injuries and carry out appropriate repair, skiving, and filling procedures.
- Inspect tyres for air pockets, wrinkles, gaps, misalignment, and other defects before curing.
- Operate and monitor curing equipment such as autoclaves, curing chambers, or presses, depending on the plant process.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Technical Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Tyre Technology, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in tyre retreading/rethreading production.
- Proven experience working in a commercial tyre retreading plant is strongly preferred.
- Experience with commercial truck, bus, OTR, or passenger-car tyre retreading is an added advantage.
- Experience operating or supervising tyre retreading machinery and curing equipment.
- Ability to inspect tyre casings and determine their suitability for retreading.
- Strong knowledge of retread quality control, tyre defect identification, and technical troubleshooting.
