Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support quality assurance and quality control activities on construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory and field tests on construction materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate must have prior experience working in a construction company and be proficient in laboratory testing procedures for civil engineering materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory and field testing of construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other building materials.
- Perform routine quality control tests in accordance with approved standards and testing procedures.
- Prepare material samples and maintain accurate testing records and documentation.
- Ensure all test results are properly recorded, analysed, and communicated to the QA/QC Engineer.
- Calibrate, maintain, and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in investigating material quality issues and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Support site inspections and quality audits as required.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure safe handling of testing equipment and materials.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory reports.
- Work closely with site engineers and the QA/QC team to ensure construction materials meet required quality standards.
Qualifications
- Laboratory Testing Certification or a related technical qualification.
- Additional qualifications in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field will be an advantage.
Experience
- 4–5 years of experience as a Laboratory Technician.
- Must have previous experience working in a construction company.
- Experience testing construction materials in accordance with recognized standards.

- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures for construction materials.
- Familiarity with relevant construction quality standards and specifications.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory testing equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Good report writing and documentation skills.

- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
