Senior Storeman
Location: Zambia
Responsible for managing inventory, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, maintaining stock records, and organizing the warehouse to ensure efficient operations and compliance with safety standards. He must be flexible with working hours to meet operational needs
Job Requirements
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods and materials.
- Ensure all items are properly labelled, stored, and organized in the warehouse.
- Manage issuing goods in compliance with company procedure.
- Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or overstock situations.
- Utilize the existing computerized system to manage stock Schedule and direct drilling activities to ensure efficient allocation of resources throughout the site.
- Ensure goods are stored in appropriate locations to prevent damage or loss.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Implement and follow proper storage procedures.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch according to company procedures.
- Ensure all outgoing goods are accurately documented and labeled.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions (receipts, issues, returns, Adjustment).
- Prepare and submit regular reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and warehouse activities.
- Conducting periodic stock take
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Comply with company policies and legal regulations regarding inventory management.
- Make a job hazard analysis with the team before starting activities
- Liaise with procurement, logistics, and internal departments to resolve issues.
- Communicate any stock-related issues or delays to the relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to shipments or inventory.
- Support the team in achieving departmental goals and targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.
Training and Education Required
- University degree preferred
- Previous experience in drilling or mining companies preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to interact with diverse cultures
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- PC Skills – Excel knowledge (intermediate to advanced level)
- Email/ Outlook knowledge.
- Knowledge & experience of Accpac, Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems
Experience Required
- At least 2 years’ inventory control experience.
- Experience in setting min and max, but not essential.
- Experience in stock code management of benefit, but not essential
