Our client is looking for a Resort Manager to join their team within the hospitality industry:
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and effectively manage all aspects of the hotel and estate, daily operations, guest experience, guest satisfaction, product and service delivery, staff development and training, maintenance of the property and assets and all other relevant and related areas.
- Lead and manage the team to ensure effective and efficient operations are conducted through the hotel and in all departments, to deliver a seamless, consistent experience to all guests.
- Ensure consistency and quality throughout all hotel areas and departments, including but not limited to, rooms, public areas, F&B outlets, guest service and experiences, products, supply, and purchases.
- Responsible for maximising revenue, profitability, and business growth in the hotel, whilst achieving any other targets and KPI’s stipulated by the Company.
Key Duties and Deliverables
- Conduct daily property walks and checks, daily HOD briefings and consistent, personalised interaction with guests.
- Maintain, improve, and optimise all hotel operations, systems, and procedures.
- Ensure the hotel operates in accordance with guest expectations, SOP’s, brand standards (where applicable) and any systems and procedures required by the Company.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local authorities and other relevant governing bodies and tax authorities.
- Constantly improve the hotel brand, service standards, and guest experiences, in line with international trends and as expected for the property.
- Monitor and supervise budgets and cost of sales, with the aim of improving profitability without compromising on the quality of guest experience, service, and F&B offerings.
- Ensure all reports and reviews are submitted as per deadlines and/or requirements stipulated by the Company.
- Oversee and ensure consistent, proactive maintenance of all hotel property, grounds, surrounds, and assets.
- Assist in the management of any hotel refurbishment or major maintenance projects.
- Manage all HOD’s to ensure all departments are always operating effectively and efficiently; and are adequately and appropriately staffed.
- Assist Human Resources to identify, attract, and retain the best talent, ensuring gender equality and equal opportunity in the workplace.
- Oversee and reinforce all hospitality training programs, ensuring staff are adequately and consistently trained to meet guest expectations, consistent customer service, and standards, plus oversee, and monitor development programs implemented to cover skill gaps and create a strong internal succession pipeline.
- Create a strong and sustainable service culture throughout the team through clear communication, training, leadership, and mentoring.
- Ensure that all areas of the hotel meet and maintain international standards and best practice in terms of health, safety, hygiene, quality, and energy management.
- Make recommendations to the Hospitality Executive to ensure all areas of the hotel are fully equipped with safe, standardised, and modern equipment, to enhance service delivery, efficiency, guest experience, profitability, product quality, and consistency.
- Inform the Hospitality Executive of all critical developments that may affect the business, recommending and making suggestions for solutions or improvement.
- Monitor products, pricing, consistency and value of all key suppliers and service providers.
- Oversee guest feedback through all channels and quickly intervene on any negative guest feedback or posts.
- Share market intelligence on current hospitality, culinary and sleep experience trends.
- Conduct regular and comparative benchmarking and variance analysis across the local market segment.
- Strive for constant energy, waste and water management, savings, and best practice.
- Manage the hotel’s CSR and recycling programs, budgets, and initiatives to best advantage.
- Prepare for and attending business reviews and annual budget sessions.
Education and Experience
- Diploma or degree in professional Tourism, Hospitality, and/or Management.
- At least 3- 5 years’ Resort or Hotel Manager experience in hotels or similar hospitality establishments
- International or regional exposure with a reputable hotel or hospitality brand.
- Strong background in Front Office, Guest Relations, and/or Food & Beverage
- Clean driver’s licence.
