Job Description – Gym Cleaner

Reports To: Gym Manager / Facilities Supervisor

Job Summary
The Gym Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the gym. The role involves cleaning workout areas, equipment, locker rooms, bathrooms, and common areas while following proper health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect gym equipment, machines, weights, benches, and workout areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
Clean and sanitize locker rooms, showers, toilets, sinks, and changing areas.
Empty trash bins and replace garbage bags regularly.
Clean mirrors, glass surfaces, doors, windows, and other common areas.
Replenish cleaning supplies, paper products, soap, and other necessary items.
Maintain high hygiene standards, particularly in high-touch areas.
Report damaged equipment, leaks, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to management.
Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ensure cleaning activities do not interfere with members’ workouts or create safety hazards.
Respond promptly to spills and other cleanliness issues.
Maintain cleaning supplies and keep the cleaning/storage area organized.
Perform other cleaning and facility-related duties as assigned.
