Role Description The Receptionist role is a full-time, on-site position based at Kai Zanzibar Hotel & Spa in Nungwi. The Receptionist will welcome guests on arrival, manage check-in and check-out procedures, and provide information about hotel amenities, spa services, and local attractions. Daily tasks include answering and directing phone calls, handling reservations and inquiries, maintaining guest records, and coordinating with housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth operations. The role also involves processing payments, managing guest requests, resolving basic issues promptly, and upholding a professional and hospitable front desk environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Receptionist Duties and Clerical Skills to manage check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest records accurately.
- Candidates should possess excellent Phone Etiquette and Communication skills to handle inquiries, coordinate with internal departments, and provide clear information to guests.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to deliver a welcoming experience, respond to guest needs, and resolve issues courteously and efficiently.
- Previous experience in hospitality or front office roles is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and reservation systems is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required; additional language skills, especially Swahili or other international languages, are an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
