Overview
Recent grads fit team Jobs in Lake Jackson, Texas, USA at Freeport Veterinary Medical Center
Position: Are there any recent grads out there looking for a better fit team-!
Almost every one of our associates tells us how their classmates are in positions where they’re not being challenged to grow, wish they had more surgical opportunities, had a team that worked together collaboratively, that the medicine is old/stale and ultimately, unfortunately, that their first jobs just aren’t what they’d hoped for.
We’re here to say – STOP SETTLING, and take the leap to find a better fit. You are the only one holding “you” back. No matter your circumstance, we believe that for those of us who want to grow and better ourselves, being in an environment that supports that is the most important part! Come join a privately owned practice team that reinvigorates your vision for what a career as a veterinarian can be!
What
makes us different?
I’ll share insights from our current associates, ranging from 2018 to 2024 graduates:
Open communication: We seek input and involvement in our medicine practices, processes, hospital decision-making, and our vision for the future.
Great Medicine: It stems from a collaborative approach. We strive to provide up-to-date practices and education, challenging the status quo with advanced soft tissue surgeries, multi-modal pain management, cutting-edge tools, and advanced ultrasounds. Client education is a key component, along with spectrum of care medicine tailored to patient and owner needs.
Great Workplace: Our team enjoys a friendly atmosphere, celebrates milestones, and offers benefits like paid parental leave, with flexibility for life’s challenges outside work.
Great Mentors: We love teaching and supporting development in medicine and communication skills. Our doctors, many of whom joined as new graduates, uphold this ethos and mentor externs and students, fostering a love for veterinary medicine.
Caseload
We are true generalists, handling cases from routine wellness to advanced surgery, dentistry, critical care, and emergencies. We partner with local rescue organizations and the SPCA to give back to the community.

Our doctors work an alternating 4-4.5 day week (average 34-38 hours), with mid-day blocks for catch-up and lunch. Saturdays are alternating half days, and we have three-day weekends. There is no on-call, and urgent care hours are shared equally.
Community
Enjoy miles of beaches, Cajun food, outdoor activities, or a short trip to Houston for entertainment. Our town offers all the conveniences needed for a comfortable life.
