Part-Time Indy Cycloplex Jobs in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA at Marian University
As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a Part-Time Indy Cycloplex staff member to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by being a crucial part of our small team. The role involves assisting in running programming and race events, maintaining the park and its cycling venues.
The Indy Cycloplex, home of the Major Taylor Velodrome, is a City-owned cycling park operated by Marian University, located across the street from the Cold Spring Road campus. The 42-acre park hosts programming and race events in all cycling disciplines, along with community events from April through November. Event and programming support staff are needed, along with grounds and facility improvement tasks such as invasive species removal, outdoor cleaning, planting, and construction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Engage with the Catholic Franciscan mission by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, and integrating faith and life.
Check-in riders and collect fees for races and training.
Perform grounds work including landscaping, cleaning, clearing, and setting up tents and equipment.
Support event days with registration, fee collection, hospitality, concessions, and assisting guests.
Assist with campus and school field trips for elementary through high school students.
Manage evening programming, including fee collection, check-in, and facility/grounds tasks.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with diverse needs and user groups.
Enjoy working at cycling events; cycling knowledge is a plus but not required.
Required Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills, flexibility, and initiative to maintain the facility and daily operations.
Ability to perform outdoor work.
Cycling experience or knowledge.
