Overview
Our Kingston practice situated in a beautiful period building is looking for an RVN to join and take the reins of this established GP site, complete with dental and digital x-ray. The practice has a large consult room with garden views, a spacious colleague area, and an admin office. You will work with a full-time sole charge vet and an enthusiastic veterinary nursing assistant, supporting their training.
Kingston has a bonded client base and is supported by Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon for complex cases or OOH care. This is a 4-day week role (Wednesday off) with a 1:4 branch Saturday rotation and 1:10 Saturdays at Stone Lion Hospital. You may be rota’d to up to 2 bank holidays per year at Stone Lion with no on-call requirements.
There is a room in the shared flat above the practice if accommodation is required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.
- Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as required.
- Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.
- Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.
- Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.
- Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with suppliers to required levels as necessary.
- Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.
- Provide reception duties, ensuring friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets, in person, by email and over the telephone.
- Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

Kingston upon Thames, 6-minute walk from Norbiton train station; central London reachable in about 50 minutes; 10-minute walk to Richmond Park and the River Thames.
- Role type:
