SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Assists the Maintenance Department in keeping the buildings and grounds clean and healthy according to safety standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the interior and exterior janitorial needs, building maintenance, and grounds keeping assignments.
Assists in moving furniture, equipment, or fixtures as required.
Assists with the planting, pruning, fertilizing, and transplanting of flowers, shrubs, trees, and bushes.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in grounds and maintenance work.
Knowledge of methods and techniques of mowing, edging, pruning, and trimming.
Ability to properly use cleaning products and equipment.
Capable of following verbal and written instructions.
Ability to read and understand labels and directions.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
One year of custodial experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
