Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician role based in Peshawar. The Laboratory Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, process samples, and operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with established protocols. Responsibilities include preparing reagents, ensuring proper sample collection and labeling, recording and interpreting test results, and assisting in quality control procedures to maintain accurate and reliable outcomes. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment, following infection prevention and safety guidelines, and supporting clinical and public health activities as needed. The Laboratory Technician will collaborate with medical and administrative staff, support reporting requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory services.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills and practical experience working as Laboratory Technicians in clinical or diagnostic settings.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in handling and maintaining laboratory equipment, including calibration, basic troubleshooting, and safe operation.
- Candidates should possess solid analytical skills to accurately perform tests, interpret results, and identify inconsistencies or potential issues.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of quality control procedures and standards to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance in all laboratory activities.
- Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Understanding of laboratory safety protocols, infection prevention, and waste management practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse colleagues and communities.
- Prior experience in a healthcare, humanitarian, or public health setting is an asset.
