Job Overview
As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of animals in our care. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing high-quality pet care and maintaining a clean and safe environment for all animals. You will work closely with pets, their owners, and veterinary staff to support the overall operation of our facility.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets as needed.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as directed by veterinary professionals.
Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and address any questions or concerns.
Support veterinary technicians during procedures by preparing necessary equipment and supplies.
Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving animals or cleaning equipment.
Participate in training sessions for animal handling techniques and customer service skills.
Skills
Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage various breeds and temperaments.
Experience in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
Knowledge of pet care practices, including grooming and basic health monitoring.
Background in veterinary care or as a veterinary technician is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily responsibilities.
Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus for enhancing animal behavior management.
