Role Description
This is a full- or part-time, on-site role for an Instructor of Shelter Medicine requiring a presence in Ithaca, NY. The Instructor will focus on teaching and mentoring veterinary students, providing clinical instruction in shelter medicine and surgery. Responsibilities also include collaboration with local animal shelters, clinical service delivery, program development, and initiatives that align with shelter medicine practices and community health.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical and teaching experience in Shelter Medicine, with experience mentoring veterinary students
- Knowledge of animal welfare, population management, and veterinary public health
- Proficiency in delivering hands-on clinical instruction
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree or equivalent, with relevant experience or training in Shelter Medicine
- A strong commitment to the well-being of animals, people, and community partnerships
The salary range for this position is $80,000-120,000 and will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience.
