Job Title:
Vegetation and Drainage Operative
Location: Rainham
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: £120 per shift (starting rate), increase per shift upon completion of further training and based on performance.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 to 14:00
Job Description: As a Vegetation and Drainage Operative, you will play a crucial role in our expanding operations with Lanes, focusing on effective vegetation management and drainage maintenance. This role is ideal for individuals who are keen to develop their skills in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
Participate in daily briefings and team meetings at the depot.
Perform standard labour tasks related to vegetation and drainage maintenance.
Operate and maintain tools like wood chippers, brush cutters, polesaw pruners, and chainsaws.
Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and company protocols at all times.
Report on job progress and any issues encountered during the shift.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Proven experience in vegetation management, landscaping, or similar roles preferred.
Valid driving licence, with experience in operating light commercial vehicles.
Initial Required Training: Workplace Safety Induction (WSI), Manual Handling, LU Medical, and Basic Track Awareness (BTA).
Further Training: Certifications in wood chipper operation, brush cutter techniques, chainsaw maintenance, and felling small trees up to 380mm. This further training will be provided by the company to enable progression to groundsman roles.
