Grounds Technician – Project Team Crew Jobs in Lubbock, Texas, USA at Texas Tech University System
Performs manual work in the operation of heavy, medium, and light mobile equipment, and the maintenance of all such equipment pertaining to assigned area. Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations are responsibilities of all employees.
Responsibilities:
Assist in installation and maintenance of signs, barricades, fences, and irrigation systems, including digging lines, replacing heads and valves.
Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
Perform related work as required.
Report hazards such as broken limbs, uneven walks, holes in turf areas, broken benches, etc. Erect barricades around hazard areas.
Mow, edge, and trim turf areas, collect debris daily, weed planting beds, water trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf areas, spread sand, remove snow and ice from walkways.
Plant trees, shrubs, ground cover, and annual flowers, using proper horticultural techniques.
Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
Minimum Requirements:
Eighth grade education or equivalent plus two years related experience in the operation of medium mobile equipment. Commercial driver’s license or willingness to obtain such a license. Additional job-related experience may substitute on a year-by-year basis for required education as long as the applicant possesses desired reading and writing skills.
