Position Overview
The Kennel Assistant plays an important role in supporting our veterinarians and technical staff while ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and well-being of our patients and boarding animals.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred
Required Skills
- Confident and safe animal handling abilities
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Basic knowledge of flea and tick preventatives, medications, and general veterinary care
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with vaccine administration
- Basic understanding of veterinary pharmacology and medical terminology
- Experience obtaining TPRs (temperature, pulse, and respiration) and patient signalments
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care
- Support technician appointments, including nail trims, vaccinations, and anal gland expressions
- Provide daily care for boarding animals, including feeding, walking, and monitoring patients
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, treatment areas, and hospital spaces
- Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining supplies
- Prepare surgical packs and assist with equipment maintenance and cleaning
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation:
- $17.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule Requirements
- Part-time
- Afternoon shift typically 2 PM – 7 PM
- Weekend availability required
