Role Description This full-time General Surgeon role is an on-site position based at Armed Forces Hospital in Lahore. The General Surgeon will perform a broad range of surgical procedures, conduct pre-operative assessments, and manage post-operative care for patients with acute and chronic conditions. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in clinical rounds. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, adhering to hospital protocols and international clinical guidelines, and contributing to quality improvement activities, case reviews, and clinical teaching as needed.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Medicine with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage diverse clinical conditions. General plus Upper Limb surgery.
  • Advanced proficiency in Surgery, including general surgical procedures and perioperative patient management.
  • Exposure or experience in Orthopedic Surgery for basic trauma and musculoskeletal cases is an advantage.
  • Exposure or experience in Plastic Surgery for reconstructive and soft-tissue procedures is beneficial.
  • Exposure or experience in Ophthalmology for basic ocular trauma and coordination of specialist care is helpful.
  • Recognized medical degree, completed surgical residency, and valid license/registration to practice as a surgeon in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, with strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development, adherence to infection control standards, and patient-centered care.
