Role Description The Finance & Accounts Associate is a full-time, remote role responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate recordkeeping for PataGig. This role includes maintaining general ledgers, processing invoices and payments, performing bank reconciliations, and assisting with budget tracking and financial reporting. The associate will help monitor cash flow, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing or account discrepancies. The role also involves responding to finance-related inquiries from partners and users, helping improve financial processes, and supporting compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong analytical skills to support financial reporting, reconciliations, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess customer service and account management skills to handle inquiries, resolve account issues, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Candidates should have proficiency in basic accounting principles and experience with accounting or ERP software.
  • Candidates should have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
  • A diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are an added advantage.
  • Experience in marketplace, fintech, or platform-based businesses in Kenya is beneficial, along with familiarity with local regulatory and tax requirements.
