Experienced Veterinary Technician – Weekend Availability Required Jobs in Hudson Oaks, TX at I-20 Animal Hospital
I-20 Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced, 24-hour veterinary team in Hudson Oaks, Texas.
Previous veterinary technician experience and weekend availability are required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Safely restrain patients and monitor their comfort
- Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples
- Perform blood draws and place IV catheters
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as directed
- Assist with anesthesia, surgery, radiology, and hospitalized patient care
- Monitor patients and promptly communicate changes to the veterinarian
- Educate clients about medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas
- Work cooperatively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives
Required Qualifications
- Previous veterinary technician experience is required
- Must be available to work weekends
- Strong animal-handling and patient-restraint skills
- Experience with blood draws, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a busy hospital environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and safely handle animals and equipment
- Availability to work holidays and other shifts based on hospital needs
Licensed Veterinary Technician credentials are welcomed but not required.
