Position: Full-Time Emergency Veterinarian
Job Description
Animal Emergency Hospital (AEH) in Bel Air, MD is expanding our team! We are adding internship‑trained or experienced emergency veterinarians with an interest in emergency medicine and soft‑tissue surgery. The ideal candidate is a team player who is caring, compassionate, and dedicated to patients and their owners. Full‑time and part‑time options are available with a flexible rotating schedule, allowing full‑time doctors to enjoy 4 – 5 consecutive days off each month.
Salary and Benefits
Competitive salary range of $180,000 – $220,000+ for full‑time experienced ER DVMs. Benefits include employer‑paid individual health, vision, and dental insurance; 401(k) with match; professional licenses and dues; continuing education; personal pet discounts; and long‑term incentive plans (LTIPs) such as student‑loan reimbursement, retention bonuses, and up to 6 weeks of PTO/sick time based on tenure.

Our team is led by Dr. Jennifer Goessling, DVM, Medical Director and MDVMA President‑elect, and Christine Price, RVT, Hospital Director. AEH is proud to be a teaching hospital, supporting emergency medicine education through our Technician/Assistant and DVM Mentorship programs. Our Hospital
We are a 24‑hour Emergency/Critical Care Practice providing advanced emergency care for small animals. Our 15,000 sq ft facility features eight exam rooms, two surgical suites, and a comprehensive array of in‑house diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
Available Equipment & Services
- In‑house diagnostic testing: CBC, chemistry, electrolytes, urinalysis, coagulation panel, blood gas, ionized calcium, quantitative cortisol, pancreatic lipase, fecal analysis, PCV/TS, canine 4
Dx, CPL, parvovirus, feline heartworm, FELV, FIV, cytology, etc.
- Other diagnostics: blood pressure, ECG, pulse oximeter, tonometry
- Endoscopy
- Force Triad / Ligasure surgical systems (monopolar, bipolar, vessel sealing)
- Digital X‑rays and new X‑ray machine
- Oxygen cages, ventilators, neonatal incubator cages
- Large intensive care units, cat‑only room, quiet modern doctor’s office with electric height desks and laptop docking
- Indoor exercise and walking area, new ultrasound machine, emergency dental procedures, large pharmacy, multiple large surgical suites, large surgical prep room with steam and plasma sterilizers, separate dog & cat isolation wards, spacious lobby and exam rooms, large conference spaces and wet lab for in‑house CE, quiet bunk room with full bath for emergencies
