Come get your hands dirty with Garden School Foundation at our next Community Garden Day on Saturday, March 15th from 9am-12pm!
Why:As a GSF volunteer, you’ll play an indispensable role in maintaining our cherished school garden at our oldest and largest garden site!
Who:Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden-basededucationto youth at Title I schools in Los Angeles, strengthening connections between food justice, environmental stewardship, and community health. By using the full transformative potential of school gardens as teaching sites, we nurture a healthy and mindful generation of children who care for their bodies, their communities, and the earth. We currently serve ten Title I elementary schools, reaching over 3,200 students and their families each year.

Mission Statement

By using the full transformative potential of school gardens as teaching sites, we nurture a healthy and mindful generation of children that care for their bodies, their communities, and the earth. We currently serve seven Title I elementary schools, reaching over 3,000 students and their families each year.
Description
The Garden School Foundation offers a variety of volunteer opportunities from monthly Community Garden Days to open volunteer hours during school hours. Our garden beautification projects include weeding, planting, constructing raised beds, tending to the compost pile, and maintaining the overall beauty of our natural space. There are also opportunities to assist with our Seed to Table Program.
Our foundation is more than happy to provide volunteering members of your organization with signatures for volunteer hours or school credit if needed.
