Dog Daycare (Kennel) Shift Lead
Austin Pup Culture is a dog daycare and boarding facility in North Central Austin, looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Shift Lead. All applicants must be positive, friendly, and able to work in a team-based environment. It is a great opportunity to interact with dogs of all shapes and sizes and their human parents! The role of Shift Lead will be responsible for running play groups on our large dog side and making sure all scheduled tasks for the shift are completed. The ideal candidate with have extensive knowledge on dog behavior and monitoring group play and excellent organizational skills.
Duties:
– Leading Play Shifts: cleaning, feeding, play groups, grooming, walking etc.
– Building and facilitating play groups to keep all dogs SAFE and happy
– Process improvement projects to help make work flows more efficient
– Supervision of other kennel staff to ensure protocol compliance
– Mentoring and training team members
– Maintaining a clean environment so all dogs stay healthy
– Feeding and administering medication
– Light grooming activities including bathing and nail trims
Qualifications:
– Must have extensive experience with dog handling, dog behavior, and basic canine health.
– Must have at least 1 year of experience in a dog daycare/boarding environment with monitoring large play groups
– Must have excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail and ability to multi-task
– Must be a punctual and reliable team member
– Must have reliable transportation- Positive, energetic, friendly, driven, self-motivated, organized, and dependable with a focus on customer service.
– Must be very skilled with computers: Microsoft Office Suite savvy and the ability to learn kennel software quickly
– Physically able to lift at least 50lbs and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
– Must have a flexible schedule to be available for weekends (both Saturdays and Sundays!) and all major holidays (365 days/year), as well be available on-call when needed.
