As an Animal Care Technician, you will receive paid training and develop in-demand skills while working alongside experienced professionals.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide humane care and daily husbandry for research animals.
- Build positive human-animal interactions to support animal welfare.
- Learn animal handling, restraint, feeding, watering, and care procedures for multiple species.
- Conduct daily health observations and monitor animal well-being.
- Measure body weights and monitor food consumption.
- Collect, review, verify, and document study-related data.
- Maintain accurate paper and electronic records.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Support research activities while adhering to quality, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Follow all safety, animal welfare, and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) requirements.
Qualifications
- No experience required. Paid training provided.
Preferred qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to animal welfare, safety, and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Fine motor skills for handling animals and performing technical procedures.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Comfortable working in an active research environment.
Compensation
- Starting Pay: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour
- +10% shift differential for eligible evening and weekend shifts
Schedule & Paid TrainingInitial Training Program (5-8 Weeks)

Regular Schedule After Training
- Monday-Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Additional availability may be required for:
- Overtime
- Weekends
- Holidays
- After-hours coverage
