Aquia-Garrisonville Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced veterinary kennel
attendant who can exceed our expectations in exceptional quality care and client
service. The ideal applicant will have a positive attitude and possess a strong attention
to detail, personal responsibility, and maturity. Compassion and professionalism are a
must. This is a physically demanding position as you are handling, lifting, and caring for
animals while on your feet all day. You will be exposed to unpleasant odors and noises,
along with handling the cleanup of blood, feces, and urine.
Duties for the Veterinary Kennel Attendant position include but are not limited to:
Greeting clients and patients.
Assisting front desk with customer service during curbside
Obtaining care instructions from their owners.
Promptly notify the doctor of the state of patients’ condition while under hospital
care.
Assisting doctors and LVTs for exams and treatment of patients.
Sterilization and cleaning of the entire hospital.
Checking in shipments and inventory of stock.
Performing laundry.
General care (feeding, walking, bathing, and cleaning) of the patients.
Requirements for the Veterinary Kennel Attendant position include but are not limited to:
Ability to work late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
1+ years of experience working in a veterinary practice or animal shelter
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to work independently, as well as be a team player
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
