Role Description The Web Developer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the company’s website and online presence to showcase products, promotions, and brand messaging. This full-time, on-site role in Kampala involves developing responsive web pages, optimizing user experience, and ensuring seamless navigation for customers browsing and purchasing products online. Day-to-day tasks include implementing front-end and back-end features, integrating e-commerce functionalities, updating content, and ensuring website performance, security, and compatibility across devices and browsers. The Web Developer will collaborate with marketing and product teams to translate business needs into digital solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously refine the site based on analytics and feedback.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Web Development and Programming skills to build, test, and maintain functional, secure, and scalable websites.
- Candidates should possess Front-End Development and Web Design skills to create responsive, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces.
- Candidates should possess Back-End Web Development skills to manage server-side logic, databases, integrations, and application performance.
- Candidates should have experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern framework or library (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
- Candidates should have familiarity with server-side languages or frameworks (e.g., Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar) and basic database management.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work collaboratively with non-technical teams.
- Candidates should have good communication skills and the ability to document code and processes clearly.
- A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, SEO best practices, and performance optimization is an added advantage.
