Role Description The Vice Principal – Early Years is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Accra, overseeing the Early Years department.
This role includes supporting curriculum implementation, supervising teaching staff, and ensuring that classroom practices align with the school’s vision, values, and child-centered approach.
The Vice Principal will monitor academic progress and social-emotional development, guide teachers in instructional strategies, and coordinate assessments and reports for learners and families.
Daily responsibilities involve managing schedules, resolving operational issues, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and communicating regularly with parents and guardians.
The role also includes mentoring educators, organizing professional development interventions, and collaborating with the Principal and leadership team on school-wide initiatives and policy implementation.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in early childhood or primary school leadership, including supervising teachers and managing academic programs.
- Strong skills in curriculum planning, classroom observation, and instructional coaching for Early Years education.
- Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with learners, families, and staff.
- Ability to manage school operations such as scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Experience building positive school culture aligned with values of cooperation, humility, responsibility, integrity, success, and trust.
- Relevant academic qualification such as a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree or additional leadership certification is an advantage.
- Understanding of international educational standards and assessments in Early Years settings.
- Capacity to mentor and develop staff through feedback, training, and performance management.
- Commitment to working within a Christian educational context while welcoming learners and staff of diverse backgrounds.
- Proven organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and resilience in a dynamic school environment.
