Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Assistant Jobs in Abilene, TX at Big Country Veterinary Clinic
Duties include, but are not limited to:
– Assisting veterinarians in providing care to animals
– Handling and restraining animals during examinations and procedures
– Administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
– Preparing and maintaining examination rooms and surgical areas
– Cleaning and sterilizing equipment and instruments
– Monitoring the health and well-being of animals in the clinic or hospital
– Assisting with diagnostic tests, such as blood work and x-rays
– Providing basic grooming services, nail trimming
Skills:
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
– Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
– Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
– Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation
– Physical stamina to handle animals of various sizes and lift heavy objects if necessary
– Compassion for animals and their well-being
