Veterinary Technician (RVT or LVT) or Veterinary Assistant
Job Description: We are seeking a Veterinary Technician (RVT or LVT) or Veterinary Assistant who is responsible for creating relationships with clients while ensuring the patients receive the best medical care through detailed workflows. As an integral part of the company, the technician/assistant is responsible for communicating with the doctors about the patients in our care.
These positions are responsible for maintaining key performance indicators and have a clear intention to improve their personal, professional, and financial goals. A veterinary technician/assistant will be skilled in medical terminology, client communication, be inspiring to others and have the patient’s best interest in mind. They will be able to assist the doctors during examinations, in obtaining lab samples (blood, fecal, etc.), as well as administering appropriate treatments to patients.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Creates/maintains a high level of trust with our clients on all aspects of their pet care
Assists doctors with client communication and education
Represents the company with high regard and respect by following our core values
Able to work well with the other staff as well as individually
Follows the protocols set forth by management
We are looking for friendly faces with positive attitudes that are willing to learn and grow as a team player

GENERAL CAPABILITIES / KEY COMPETENCIES:
Understands veterinary medical terminology and common veterinary medical conditions
Ability to stay calm when faced with emotionally challenging situations
Ability to converse with clients in a professional manner
Maintain a drug-free and smoke-free environment
Ability to stay on task without direct supervision
Punctuality is a must
Basic veterinary technician skills including but not limited to:
Restraint
Medication administration
Vaccination protocol
Venipuncture/Catheter placement is plus but not required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma & minimum of 18 years old
Experience in a veterinary setting (preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of standing/bending/lifting
Ability to lift 50 pounds

SHIFT REQUIREMENTS
Shifts are 7a-4p, 9a-6p, 11a-8p (Staff works a combination of these shifts, minimum 2 closing shifts)
Ability to work weekends (rotating Saturdays)
One hour lunch break
