NON-PROFIT PET WELLNESS AND SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC
HOURLY WAGE BASED ON EXPERIENCE.

Save An Angel is seeking a part-time or full-time veterinary technician to join our team that loves animals, enjoys working with the public, and be able to multi-task in a busy nonprofit veterinary clinic environment. We spay and neuter on average 30 canine and feline patients each day and see approximately 40 pets for wellness appointments. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented, self-motivated staff member, with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and dedication to client service and education. Must have good attention to detail and be able to multi-task.
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random background checks and drug testing.
All applicants must be able to perform all of the typical duties expected of an experienced Technician, including, but not limited to:
Anesthetic induction and anesthesia monitoring.
Intubating dogs and cats
All aspects of surgical preparations
Recovering patients from surgery.
Proper restraint of dogs and cats
Assisting doctor in exams & administering treatments and diagnostic testing
Running lab tests
Filling and dispensing appropriate medications
Relaying medical instructions as instructed by the Veterinarian
Administering vaccines
Retrieving and accurately relaying patient histories
Cleaning surgical instruments
Wrapping and sterilizing surgical packs
Cleaning the surgery room and kennels
Working as a team player.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work standing or sitting for 8 or more hours daily
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day with help
Must be able to bend and kneel repeatedly
Must have good hearing, including ability to distinguish changes in pitch
Must have reasonable degree of agility to move through tightly cramped areas in various situations
Must have good vision, including peripheral vision, fine detail, distance, depth perception, and ability to focus
Prolonged exposure to various chemicals, including but not limited to, chlorhexidine, hydrogen peroxide cleaners, bleach, isoflurane gas, and isopropyl alcohol
Work Environment:
8 to ~12 hour shifts, 4 to 5 days per week. One weekend day required.
The daily operations of a high volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic is fast-paced. Shifts vary, some weekend shifts required. Candidate must be flexible with schedule changes and short notice overtime requests.
HOURLY WAGE BASED ON EXPERIENCE.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
12 hour shift
No nights
Weekends as needed
