Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Blaine, MN is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Position: Veterinary Technician (CVT preferred, but not required.)

Work Schedule: Part Time;
Weekends (Sat/Sun, every other weekend)

Pay Range APCA I/VTIII: $22.15 – $41.75/hour

* This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Weekday Night (Mon-Thu 6p to 8a): $3.50

Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50

Weekend Night (Fri-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.

Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.

Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients.

Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.

Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes and issues.

Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels proficiently.

Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
