Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dermatology Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong background in veterinary dermatology. This role involves assisting in diagnosing and treating skin conditions in animals, providing exceptional care to our patients, and educating pet owners on skin health.
Responsibilities
Assist in performing dermatological examinations and procedures.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment for dermatology cases.
Collect and process samples for laboratory testing.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Monitor patients during procedures and provide post-operative care.
Educate pet owners on skin care, treatment options, and preventive measures.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary dermatology.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous experience in veterinary dermatology is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to animal care.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs with or without accommodation.
Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.
Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics
