Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to support our veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to horses. This role requires excellent horse handling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by handling horses and providing necessary support.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian and maintain accurate records of treatments.
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure a safe environment for both animals and staff.
Candidate should be able to confidently handle horses and must be able to trot horses in hand and lunge horses on a line
Current drivers license and may be asked to drive veterinarians between appointments
Experience
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with animal physiology and basic medical terminology is advantageous.
Skills in horse handling and care are essential for this role.
