Veterinary Technician (RVT) / Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Seeking a compassionate, skilled, upbeat Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our tight-knit team.

Hiring bonus of $2500.00 for successful candidate! Weekend shift differential and overnight shift differential.

Who are we looking for?

Please have a positive personality, be capable of effective communication, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, multi-task like a pro, and have a well-rounded skill set and solid knowledge base. Our ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience. As we are a 24-hour emergency hospital please be willing to work outside of the boring 9am-5pm weekday schedule. We prefer someone with at least two years of experience working as a technician in an emergency veterinary hospital.

Responsibilities include:

Mentoring emergency paraprofessional staff

Onboarding and training of new and current staff

Assisting managment team with implementing SOPs for emergency paraprofessional staff

Assisting management team in daily floor responsibilities and coverage, proactively planning for the day

Maintaining communication with the management team and assisting with employee oversight

Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients

Successfully use all in house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results

Safely and effectively take digital radiographs

Be able to calculate drug dosages

Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV

Proficiency with catheterization (venous, urinary)

Possess or develop advanced emergency skills

Comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine

Effectively care for and communicate with clients
