Urgent Pet Care Center is a locally and privately owned business in Edmond, OK. Our goal is to partner with the primary veterinary community to alleviate the long wait times at an emergency room for the client and pet, and allow emergency teams to focus on truly emergent cases. We are creating a culture of transparency, intentionally keeping the patient in the exam room with the client and minimizing the time away from their owner.

Responsibilities:
– Assist Senior Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
– Triage, monitor, and care for walk-in urgent cases
– Safely and effectively handle and restrain patients, ensuring both animal and staff safety
– Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
– Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
– Positioning patients for diagnostic radiographic procedures
– Collection of laboratory samples and perform laboratory tests/analyze results
– Provide nursing care to post-operative and outpatient animals
– Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
Qualifications:
– Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior
– Proficient in performing medical procedures and administering medications
– Ability to operate veterinary equipment such as X-ray machines and laboratory instruments
– Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members
– Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals
-Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with veterinarians and other staff members
– Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
