Duties

  • Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and represent the reception area with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and supporting anesthesia monitoring
  • Perform animal restraint, handling, and husbandry to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and treatments
  • Conduct laboratory work including sample collection, phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, and laboratory testing to support accurate diagnoses
  • Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and anesthesia monitors with precision
  • Maintain detailed records using veterinary software, including patient histories, treatment notes, and laboratory results

Skills

  • Understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary surgical procedures is very helpful
  • Hands-on experience with IV insertion, vascular access, animal catheterization, and anesthesia monitoring in veterinary settings
  • Knowledge in radiology diagnostics including X-ray operation and interpretation of diagnostic images
  • Ability to handle dogs and other animals confidently using appropriate restraint techniques
  • Experience with veterinary laboratory work such as phlebotomy and diagnostic testing; familiarity with laboratory equipment is a plus
  • Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about treatments and care plans
  • Familiarity with veterinary software systems for scheduling, record keeping, and billing purposes

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
