Veterinary Technician Jobs in United States at Española Humane
We are seeking talented and dedicated Veterinary Technicians to join our clinic team. Española Humane is committed to partnering with our community to positively influence the lives of Española’s pets, and Veterinary Technicians play a vital role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required, but not limited to:
Assists the veterinarian during the examination of animals, providing restraint as needed to work safely and effectively.
Prepares and administers medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments, as the veterinarian prescribes.
Administers anesthesia to animals under the veterinarian’s direction and monitors animals’ responses to anesthetics so that dosages can be adjusted.
Cares for and monitors the condition of animals recovering from surgery.
Performs laboratory tests on blood, urine, and feces, such as urinalysis and blood counts, to assist in diagnosing and treating animal health problems.
Administers emergency first aid, such as emergency resuscitation or other life-saving procedures.
Collects, prepares, and labels samples for laboratory testing, culture, or microscopic examination.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and materials.
Provides the veterinarian with the correct equipment and instruments, as needed.
Fills prescriptions, measures medications, and labels containers.
Prepares animals for surgery, such as shaving surgical areas and placing IV catheters.
Maintains clean examination rooms and treatment areas.
Works collaboratively with veterinarians to ensure that all animals are cared for properly and move through the system efficiently.
Bilingual highly desired
The clinic is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, offering a 4/10 schedule (subject to change).

The qualified, experienced candidate will be offered above national market rate compensation, full-time hours, and benefits, including medical insurance, matching 401k, and PTO.
